The Old Bell pub, Old Heath, Colchester, was set on fire

If that's not an insurance job then I'm the pope.

How much longer are breweries going to get away with deliberatly setting fire to failed pub buildings, just so that they can turn the site into a block of flats?

In today's failing climate we are losing 4 pubs a day, the government doesn't want to do anything about it, and the breweries are losing money (who ever would have thought it).

Anyway, rest in piece of shit pub that was the Bell. I'll miss karaoke on a Tuesday night (like a hole in the head).

Here's the article in the local rag: http://www.gazette-news.co.uk/search/4226665.UPDATED__Blaze_at_derelict_Bell_pub/
